Surtur Rising sounds exactly like any Amon Amarth fan you'd expect. Even before having the album in the stereo, the structure of the songs, the moments of the tempo changes and the guitar solos are known by note: Amon Amarth are decidedly predictable, which is not necessarily negative, it depends solely on the quality of the songs. What leaves me speechless is the song chosen as cover "Aerials", an unique and powerful interpretation of SOD's classic pearl.

Since their first lp, "Once Sent from the Golden Halls", Amon Amarth has continued to escalate their sound and improve with every release, and the new "Surtur Rising" is a perfect example of this trend.
Overall this album is a very memorable one to me and to metal history as a whole.
