 | Beschreibung: | Under the title Gli impresari, The Impresarios - i.e. The directors of the theatre troupes that Nikolaus I, Prince Esterházy engaged to perform in his opera houses - this album gathers together some of the orchestral works by Joseph Haydn linked by their origin and their reception; they were originally conceived as theatre music, before their metamorphosis into symphonies. The period from 1772 onwards, when Karl Wahr was responsible for the summer theatre programme at Esterháza, saw the peak of the multidisciplinary collaboration taking place between the court music directed by Haydn and companies engaged from outside. At the end of 1775 and the beginning of 1776, while Joseph Haydn was occupied in transforming his music for Collé's comedy into a symphony for concert performance, Karl Wahr was enjoying enormous success with his theatrical entertainments in the ballroom at the theatre in Salzburg. It was there, on 3 January 1776, that Thamos, King of Egypt was staged, a heroic drama whose choruses, musicologists now believe, were composed by none other than Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; for this Salzburg performance he also composed four instrumental entr'actes (recorded for this release) as well as a melodrama and a Don Giovanni-esque descent into hell., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Bassoon: Carles Cristóbal, Bassoon: Letizia Viola, Cello: Christoph Dangel, Cello: Georg Dettweiler, Cello: Hristo Kouzmanov, Conductor: Giovanni Antonini, Design, Artwork: Valérie Lagarde, Editor: Amélie Boccon-Gibod, Editor: Louise Burel, Flute: Isabelle Schnöller, Horn: Konstantin Timokhine, Horn: Mark Gebhart, Liner Notes: Christian Moritz-Bauer, Liner Notes: Daniel Kehlmann, Liner Notes: Giovanni Antonini, Liner Notes [English Translation]: Charles Johnston, Liner Notes [French Translation]: Dennis Collins (2), Liner Notes [French Translation]: Laurent Cantagrel, Liner Notes [German Translation]: Jürgen Grözinger (3), Liner Notes [German Translation]: Silvia Berutti-Ronelt, Liner Notes [Traduction]: Juliette Aubert, Liner Notes [Translation]: Ben Fergusson, Management [Director Alpha Classics]: Didier Martin, Oboe: Emiliano Rodolfi, Oboe: Thomas Meraner, Orchestra [On Period Instruments]: Kammerorchester Basel, Photography By [Additional Photos]: Kathy Ryan, Photography By [Additional Photos]: Kemal Mehmet Girgin, Photography By [Additional Photos]: ?ukasz Rajchert, Photography By [Photo Gallery]: Magnum Photos, Photography By [Photo Gallery]: Peter van Agtmael, Producer [Recording Producer], Edited By [Editing], Mastered By [Mastering]: Jean-Daniel Noir, Timpani: Alexander Wäber, Trumpet: Christian Bruder, Trumpet: Jan Wollmann, Typography: Scala Pro, Viola: Anna Pfister, Viola: Bodo Friedrich, Viola: Katya Polin, Viola: Mariana Doughty, Violin [1st Violin]: Elisabeth Kohler-Gomes, Violin [1st Violin]: Ewa Miribung, Violin [1st Violin]: Irmgard Zavelberg, Violin [1st Violin]: Tamás Vásárhelyi, Violin [1st Violin]: Valentina Giusti, Violin [1st Violin]: Yuki Kasai, Violin [2nd Violin]: Anna Faber (2), Violin [2nd Violin]: Barbara Bolliger, Violin [2nd Violin]: Maria Cristina Vasi, Violin [2nd Violin]: Mirjam Steymans-Brenner, Violin [2nd Violin]: Regula Keller, Violone: Daniel Szomor, Violone: Stefan Preyer, Composed By: Joseph Haydn, Composed By: Joseph Haydn, Composed By: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Composed By: Joseph Haydn, Composed By: Joseph Haydn, Composed By: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Composed By: Joseph Haydn, Composed By: Joseph Haydn, Labelcode ALLP681.2 (ALPHA 681, ALPHA 680), Phonographic Copyright (p) Joseph Haydn Stiftung, Phonographic Copyright (p) Alpha Classics, Phonographic Copyright (p) Outhere Music France, Copyright (c) Alpha Classics, Copyright (c) Outhere Music France, Copyright (c) Peter van Agtmael, Copyright (c) Magnum Photos, Copyright (c) ?ukasz Rajchert, Copyright (c) Kemal Mehmet Girgin, Copyright (c) Kathy Ryan, Copyright (c) Reinhard Winkler, Recorded At Landgasthof Riehen, Mastered At GZ Media, Mastered At SNAdisc, Mastered At SNAdisc, Mastered At SNAdisc, M | | Herstellernummer: |
