In the mid-'60s, Belafonte's LP CALYPSO popularized the music of his Jamaican heritage and hit #1 on the charts. This quintessential edition presents two of his finest albums, both of which include songs from the West Indies: The aforementioned best-seller CALYPSO (1956), and the equally influential BELAFONTE SINGS OF THE CARIBBEAN (1957). Both records were originally released by RCA-Victor during Belafonte's most inspired years.
