 | Beschreibung: | Recorded during this year's Misteria Paschalia Festival in Poland, Dunedin Consort's performance of Handel's Ode for St Cecilia's Day sees them joined for the first time by tenor Ian Bostridge and soprano Carolyn Sampson. Bostridge demonstrates the technical mastery and vocal precision that has seen him win all the major international record prizes in his twenty-five year career. Highly sought-after for her refined Baroque sensibilities and pure intonation, Sampson's lyric soprano is ideally suited to Handel. Led by John Butt, with singers from the Polish Radio Choir, this rich and colorful tribute to music's patron saint is the latest in their much-lauded Handel discography, which includes Messiah, Acis & Galatea and Esther, each recording having won widespread acclaim. The recording is completed by Handel's Concerto Grosso in A minor Op. 6 No. 4, in which Dunedin Consort's exceptional instrumentalists take center stage., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Alto Vocals: Amy Lyddon-Towl, Alto Vocals: Rory McCleery, Bass Vocals: Edmund Saddington, Bass Vocals: Michael Craddock, Bassoon: Julia Crawford (2), Cello: Andrew Skidmore, Cello: Eric De Wit (2), Cello: Gulrim Choï, Cello: Jonathan Manson, Chorus: Chór Polskiego Radia, Chorus Master: Maria Piotrowska-Bogalecka, Composed By: Georg Friedrich Händel, Directed By, Producer [Artistic Director], Producer [Recording]: John Butt, Double Bass: Hannah Turnbull, Double Bass: Timothy Amherst, Engineer [Recording]: Philip Hobbs, Engineer [Recording]: Robert Cammidge, Ensemble: Dunedin Consort, Harpsichord: David Gerrard (2), Oboe: Frances Norbury, Oboe: Laura Alvarado, Organ: Stephen Farr, Painting [Cover]: Rembrandt, Post Production: Julia Thomas (2), Producer [Recording]: Stephen Johns, Soprano Vocals: Carolyn Sampson, Soprano Vocals: Claire Evans (2), Soprano Vocals: Rachel Ambrose Evans, Tenor Vocals: Ashley Turnell, Tenor Vocals: David Lee (58), Tenor Vocals: Ian Bostridge, Theorbo: Dohyo Sol, Timpani: Alan Emslie, Traverso [Flute]: Katy Bircher, Trumpet: Paul Sharp (4), Trumpet: Simon Munday (2), Viola: Alfonso Leal Del Ojo, Viola: Emilia Benjamin, Viola: Geoffrey Irvin, Violin [1]: Alice Evans, Violin [1]: Barbara Downie (2), Violin [1]: Jacek Kurzydlo, Violin [1]: Kinga Ujszászi, Violin [1]: Sarah Bevan-Baker, Violin [1], Concertmistress: Cecilia Bernardini, Violin [2]: Alice Rickards, Violin [2]: Kristin Deeken, Violin [2]: Marja Gaynor, Violin [2]: Rebecca Livermore, Violin [2]: Tuomo Suni, Labelcode LINN578.2 (CKD 578), Copyright (c) Outhere, Phonographic Copyright (p) Linn Records, Recorded At Misteria Paschalia, Recorded At Sala Audytoryjna Im.
