Yuriy P. - 17.01.2020 Rock band from Philadelphia "Cinderella", was founded in 1983. His main driving force was Tom Keifer - vocalist, guitarist and author of most musical compositions. At first, the team had to perform exclusively at club venues. Fortunately, one of them was attended by John Bon Jovi. Thanks to him, the group signed a contract with a reputable record company.
As a result, in 1986 a debut record appeared on the shelves of music stores. It was called "Night Songs."
The musicians went on tour in support of the album. In the fall, the release already had a golden status. At the same time, the single and clip “Nobody's Fool” appeared. As a result, the debut album was in third place on the American chart. In 1988, the second album of the group called “Long Cold Winter” was released. And after a few months, the record not only settled in the top ten, but also acquired platinum status.
For two years, the team toured a lot. For example, musicians performed at the famous Moscow festival. They then shared a concert venue with such luminaries of music as Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue and Skid Row. By this time, Cinderella was already reoriented to hard rock with a blues base.
At the end of autumn 1990, the third album, Heartbreak Station, was released. Critics also flattered the new work, but album sales and chart places were already not as high as their predecessors.
Since 1993, the group’s career has begun to decline. Tom Keifer had very serious problems with his vocal chords. He underwent a series of operations and underwent a rehabilitation course of treatment. But while he was recovering, the musical climate changed. Therefore, when a new work of the team appeared (it was called “Still Climbing”), it could not rise to its previous level in the charts. In addition, the contract with the label was lost, and the project itself fell into a coma.
The last album, in fact, was a kind of swan song for "Cinderella".
A few years later, the musicians reanimated their project and went on a tour of America. A little later, the team signed a contract with another famous label. And in 2000, Keifer announced the work on the long-awaited new album.
It should have been called Down Street. In addition, there was talk that Desmond Child himself was involved in the project, who had once collaborated with Alice Cooper, Kiss, Bon Jovi.
But the output of the plate was repeatedly tolerated. At the moment, the album has not yet been recorded. 03/15/2018
