Alexander S. - 16.01.2020 So the time has come when the British classics of light metal did sound! Not one hundred percent, but with a significant improvement in the quality of the recording, you can understand them and put them all on the shelves, which I am going to do. The second album of metal gouging turned out to be very, very interesting. The original sound, recognizable from the very first notes, is distinguished by its simple, quite heavy rhythms and, most importantly, by its very driving and memorable melody, reminiscent of a mixture of rock and hard hard and heavy. The disc presented us with material that significantly overtook the debut debut, both in technique and in the number of ideas and my favorite vocal pop-lyrical tunes of Joe Eliot and Co. The main plus is Joe's crucified voice, which sounds clean, and at times even draws a note and scribbles in hard style. The reckless high-speed performance that the guys made in the instrumental composition “Switch 625” leaves a very good impression - the style of the group, which was so well established in the next album, fully woke up here. Lyrics fully correspond to the music - reckless themes mainly on the topic of love, or about how cool we are and what we need to look at and be sure to listen to! As always, a special role is played by that particular vocalist lyricism about which I wrote and the song “Bringin’ On The Heartbreak ”is a clear example of this. One of the best songs of the group in general. It combines exactly that wonderful sad lyrics along with carbon monoxide rock'n'roll riffs and purely classical solos for the style. But among the more carbon compositions, it is worth noting the title thing - a mid-tempo number on a cool rock’s and roll basis and with ambitious lyrics. Nearby are beautiful fast things “Lady Strange” with a cool leading solo and “Through Through The Night” with no less driving guitar chips and a memorable chorus. That’s probably all. As a result, I note that the disc is very original and ahead of the time - in 1981, few of the teams were able to rebuild and bomb out something original and fresh. So it was this little thing that came out of the Leopards. Almost a masterpiece.
