 | | Beschreibung: | Out-of-print in the US! An aural postcard of Gabriel's 1993-1994 "Us World Tour", SECRET WORLD LIVE is demonstrative of this studio perfectionist's ability to produce singular, textured works in any setting. He has always surrounded himself with first-class players who shared his vision of incorporating world music into the Western pop vocabulary (guitarist David Rhodes, bassist Tony Levin and drummer Manu Katche have been with Gabriel thebetter part of ten years). to expand the music's breadth, for the "Us" tour he added noted jazz violinist Shankar and vocalist Paula Cole to the band and restructured the songs toreflect the more celebratory aspects of live performances. This mix provides SECRET WORLD LIVE with it's world-beat meets new age jazz meets English art-soul sound. Created in the wake of U2's extravagant "Zoo TV", the "Us" shows were also multi-media blow outs, thematically connected to Gabriel's then-current explorations of psychotherapy. In fact, the second half of the album incorporates previous hits-the sexually charged "Sledgehammer", the elegiac "Don't Give Up" (with Cole playing Kate Bush's part), and the anthemic "In YourEyes"-into a song-cycle that explores the consequences of the inner fears of youth and love's ability to insulate one from that pain. It all makes Gabriel's SECRET WORLD LIVE addup to a musical stew that is equal parts William Gibson, Carl Jung and Fela Kuti., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Art Direction: Michael Coulson, Artwork [Cover Images]: Danny Jenkins, Artwork [Cover Images]: Fab 4 (2), Artwork [Cymatics Images]: Hans Jenny, Bass, Vocals: Tony Levin, Concept By [Secret World Concept]: Peter Gabriel, Concept By [Secret World Concept]: Robert Lepage (2), Coordinator [Tour, Album Recording, Post-Production Coordination]: David Taraskevics, Design: Tony Stiles, Design [Co-ordination]: Martha Ladly, Drums: Manu Katché, Duduk [Doudouk]: Levon Minassian, Edited By [Digital]: Joe Hammer, Electric Guitar, Vocals: David Rhodes, Engineer [Additional]: Richard Chappell, Engineer [Assistant, At Guillaume Tell]: Alex Firla, Engineer [Assistant, At Guillaume Tell]: Rodolphe Sanguinetti, Harmonica: Peter Gabriel, Keyboards, Vocals: Jean-Claude Naimro, Management [Assistant To PG]: Annie Parsons, Management [Legal]: Michael Thomas (10), Management [Publishing]: Karen Christie, Management [Real World Management]: David Stephen, Management [Real World Management]: Maria Pedro, Management [Real World Management]: Mike Large, Mastered By: Ian Cooper, Mixed By: Peter Walsh, Photography By [Additional]: Armando Gallo, Photography By [Additional]: Guido Harari, Photography By [Additional]: Laurence Leblanc, Photography By [Additional]: Robert Leslie (3), Photography By [Additional]: Stephen Lovell-Davis, Photography By [Back Cover, Inlay]: Stephen Lovell-Davis, Producer: Peter Gabriel, Producer: Peter Walsh, Recorded By: Kevin Killen, Recorded By: Peter Walsh, Violin, Vocals: Shankar, Vocals: Papa Wemba, Vocals: Paula Cole, Vocals: Reddy Mela Amissi, Vocals: Styno Mubi Matadi, Written-By: Peter Gabriel, Written-By: David Rhodes, Written-By: Peter Gabriel, Written-By: Shankar, Written-By: Stewart Copeland, Written-By: Peter Gabriel, Written-By: Youssou N'Dour, Labelcode 8398402 (PGDCD 8, 7243 8 39840 2 2), Phonographic Copyright (p) Peter Gabriel Ltd., Copyright (c) Peter Gabriel Ltd., Published By Real World Music Ltd., Published By Magnetic Publishing Ltd., Published By Shankar, Published By Editions Virgin Musique, Recorded At Palasport Nuovo, Modena, Recorded At Real World Studios, Recorded At Studio Guillaume Tell, Produced At Real World Studios, Produced At Studio Guillaume Tell, Mastered At Metropolis Mastering, Pressed By EMI Uden | | | Anzahl der Titel: |
