 | Beschreibung: | If bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees and Bauhaus can be considered the founders of post-punk glam, laying the foundations of what would turn into Goth rock, then Gene Loves Jezebel followed closely in their footsteps with the debut, Promise. Careening, wailing guitar is matched by careening, wailing vocals from the two brothers, while forceful, semi-tribal drumming underlay everything on display. John Brand's production balances out brute force with careful texturing, allowing the group to showcase their power chops as well as their calmer, moodier side. Despite the unstable lineup at the time of recording, everything sounds like the product of a well-seasoned band, no doubt thanks to the Astons' considerable and happily justifiable belief in their own abilities. One of the more common but effective elements on Promise is a sense of quick, dramatic changes. 2005., Backing Vocals: Jay Aston, Backing Vocals: Kym Chambers, Bass: Ian Hudson, Bass: Steve Marshall, Bass: Steve Marshall, Cover: Jeremy Bannister, Design [Restoration], Coordinator [Release Co-ordination]: Stephen Webbon, Drums: James Chater, Drums: John Murphy, Drums: Richard Hawkins, Engineer: Aldo (3), Engineer: John Brand, Engineer: John Madden (6), Engineer: Nick Smith (4), Guitar: Albie De Luca, Guitar: Ian Hudson, Guitar: Jay Aston, Guitar: Jay Aston, Lead Vocals: Michael Aston, Liner Notes [November 30, 2004]: Jay Aston, Performer: Albie De Luca, Performer: Ian Hudson, Performer: Jay Aston, Performer: John Murphy, Performer: Kym Chambers, Performer: Michael Aston, Performer: Richard Hawkins, Performer: Steve Marshall, Photography By [Additional]: Chris Garnham, Photography By [Additional]: Jeremy Bannister, Photography By [Additional]: Sheila Rock, Producer: John Brand, Remastered By: Jason Mitchell, Remastered By: John Dent, Vocals: Jay Aston, Vocals: Jay Aston, Vocals: Michael Aston, Written-By: Ian Hudson, Written-By: Jay Aston, Written-By: Jay Aston, Written-By: Michael Aston, Engineer [Mix]: Louis Austin, Engineer: Louis Austin, Recorded By [Additional]: John Brand, Engineer: Robin Springall, Written-By: Richard Hawkins, Written-By: Steve Marshall, Mastered By [Original]: Ray Staff, Drums: Steve Goulding, Bass, Piano, Backing Vocals: Julianne Regan, Bass, Piano, Backing Vocals: Julianne Regan, Written-By: James Chater, Written-By: Julianne Regan, Labelcode IMT899455.2 (BBL 2011 CDD), Phonographic Copyright (p) Beggars Banquet Records Ltd., Phonographic Copyright (p) Situation Two, Copyright (c) Beggars Banquet Records Ltd., Pressed By Sonopress Arvato, Pressed By Sonopress Arvato | | Anzahl der Titel: |
