Extra-Infos: .. Op. 67 & Piano Quintet Op. 34
Beschreibung:This album marks a milestone in the extensive discography of the Hagen Quartett - myrios classics is honoured to present their first recording of a Brahms string quartet. The quartet op. 67 is paired with Brahms' piano quintet op. 34. Here, the Hagen Quartett is joined by their regular collaborator, pianist Kirill Gerstein. The unprecedented three-decade career of the Hagen Quartet began in 1981. It's early years, marked by a series of prizes in chamber music competitions and an exclusive recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon that was to produce around forty-five albums over the following twenty years, enabled the group to work it's way through the virtually un- limited quartet repertoire from which the distinctive profile of the Hagens has emerged. Collaborations with artistic personalities such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt and György Kurtág are as important to the Hagen Quartet as it's concert appearances with performers including Maurizio Pollini, Mitsuko Uchida, Sabine Meyer, Krystian Zimerman, Heinrich Schiff and Jörg Widmann. The group's concert repertoire and discography feature attractive and intelligently arranged programmes embracing the entire history of the string quartet, from it's pre-Haydn beginnings right through to Kurtág. The Hagen Quartet also works closely with composers of it's own generation, whether by reviving existing works or by commissioning and premiering new pieces., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Composed By: Johannes Brahms, Ensemble: Hagen Quartett, Executive-Producer [Executive Producers]: Maja Ellmenreich, Executive-Producer [Executive Producers]: Stephan Cahen, Graphic Design: Stephan Cahen, Liner Notes: Stephan Cahen, Liner Notes [Traduction Française]: Geneviève Geffray, Liner Notes [Translation]: Stanley Hanks, Photography By: Stephan Cahen, Photography By [Artist Photos]: Harald Hoffmann, Photography By [Artist Photos]: Marco Borggreve, Producer [Recording Producer], Engineer [Recording Engineer], Edited By [Digital Editing]: Stephan Cahen, Technician [Piano Technician]: Daniel Brech, Viola [Hagen Quartett]: Veronika Hagen, Violin [Hagen Quartett Violin II]: Rainer Schmidt, Violin [Hagen Quartett Violin I]: Lukas Hagen, Violoncello [Hagen Quartett]: Clemens Hagen, Piano [Steinway & Sons]: Kirill Gerstein, Labelcode MYRC21.2 (MYR021), Phonographic Copyright (p) DeutschlandRadio, Phonographic Copyright (p) Myrios Classics, Recorded At Kammermusiksaal Köln, Recorded At Radio Bremen Sendesaal, Glass Mastered At Arvato
