Beschreibung:GRATEFUL DEAD / ANTHEM OF SUN (1971 REMIX) vinyl LP pressing. 1971 remix of the original album. Anthem of the Sun is the second album by The Grateful Dead, released in 1968 on Warner Bros/Seven Arts. It is the first album to feature second drummer Mickey Hart. The band was also joined by Tom Constanten, who contributed avant-garde instrumental and studio techniques influenced by composers John Cage and Karlheinz Stockhausen. The album was assembled through a collage-like editing approach helmed by members Jerry Garcia and Phil Lesh (along with soundman Dan Healy), in which disparate studio and live performance tapes were spliced together to create new hybrid recordings. The band also supplemented their performances with instruments such as prepared piano, kazoo, harpsichord, timpani, trumpet, and güiro. The result is an experimental amalgam that is neither a true studio album nor a live album., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Arranged By: The Grateful Dead, Art Direction: Ed Thrasher, Artwork [Cover]: Bill Walker (8), Bass, Trumpet, Harpsichord, Guiro, Kazoo, Piano, Timpani: Phil Lesh, Drums, Bells [Orchestra], Gong, Chimes, Crotales, Piano [Prepared], Finger Cymbals: Bill Kreutzmann, Drums, Bells [Orchestra], Gong, Chimes, Crotales, Piano [Prepared], Finger Cymbals: Mickey Hart, Engineer [Asst.]: Bob Matthews, Engineer [Executive]: Dan Healy, Lacquer Cut By: Chris Bellman, Lead Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Kazoo, Vibraslap: Jerry Garcia, Organ, Claves [Celesta]: Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, Photography By [Liner Photo]: Thomas Weir, Piano, Piano [Prepared], Tape [Electronic]: Tom Constanten, Producer [Live]: The Grateful Dead, Producer [Studios And Live]: Dave Hassinger, Producer [for release]: David Lemieux (2), Rhythm Guitar, Twelve-String Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Kazoo: Bob Weir, Written-By, Arranged By, Producer: The Grateful Dead, Composed By: The Grateful Dead, Composed By: Phil Lesh, Composed By: Robert Peterson (3), Composed By: Bob Weir, Composed By: Phil Lesh, Composed By: Robert Hunter, Composed By: Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, Composed By: Bill Kreutzmann, Composed By: Bob Weir, Composed By: Jerry Garcia, Composed By: Phil Lesh, Composed By: Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, Labelcode GRDW1749P.1 (RR1 1749, 603497846610), Recorded At RCA Studios, Hollywood, Recorded At American Recording Co., Recorded At Century Sound Studios, Recorded At Olmstead Studios, Recorded At Shrine Exposition, L.A., Recorded At Eureka Municipal Auditorium, Recorded At Eagles Auditorium, Recorded At Crystal Ballroom, Recorded At Carousel Ballroom, Recorded At Kings Beach, Mixed At Columbus Recorders, San Francisco, Mixed At Criteria Recording Studios, Mixed At Apostolic Studios, Published By Ice Nine Publishing

Great remix for a Great album... No mind-bending jams, but some beautiful, sweet Jerry ballads. Highly recommended for any fan of this music...
