Plus 4 Bonus Tracks / / 24-bit Dig.rem |
 | Beschreibung: | Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of albums from the Blues legend plus four bonus tracks. John Lee Hooker developed a 'talking blues' style that became his trademark. Though similar to the early Delta tradition, his metrically free approach and unique sound would make him a staple of Detroit blues. Often called the King of the Boogie, Hooker's driving, rhythmic approach to guitar playing has become an integral part of the blues. This quintessential release includes two of Hooker's finest albums: THE FOLKLORE OF JOHN LEE HOOKER and FOLK BLUES. The former LP combines acoustic tunes like the spine-chilling 'Tupelo' and 'The Hobo' (both recorded at the Newport Folk Festival in 1960), plus electric numbers such as 'I'm Mad Again', 'I'm Going Upstairs', and 'Hard-Headed Woman', among other highlights. The second LP featured Hooker's 1952-1955 electric recordings for the Modern label. Both albums have been remastered and packaged together in this very special collector's edition, which also includes 4 bonus tracks from the same period., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Backing Vocals: Eddie Kirkland, Bass: Bob Harris (7), Bass: Everett McCrary, Bass: Quinn Wilson, Bass: Sylvester Hickman, Design: Jettoki DB, Double Bass [String Bass]: Bill Lee (2), Drums: Earl Phillips, Drums: George Woods (5), Drums: Jimmy Turner, Drums: Richard Johnson (9), Drums: Tom Whitehead, Guitar: Eddie Kirkland, Guitar: Eddie Taylor (2), Guitar: Lefty Bates, Harmonica: Sonny Terry, Harmonica, Guitar: Jimmy Reed, Photography By [Cover Photo]: Jan Persson (4), Piano: Bob Gaddy, Piano: Bob Thurman, Piano: Frankie Bradford, Tenor Saxophone: Otis Finch (2), Vocals, Lead Guitar, Other [Foot Stomping]: John Lee Hooker, Written-By: John Lee Hooker, Written-By: Eddie Boyd, Labelcode IMT1103160.2 (263499), Phonographic Copyright (p) Hoodoo Records, Copyright (c) Hoodoo Records | | Anzahl der Titel: |
