Alexander S. - 14.10.2019 Old iron just does not rust, unless of course Iron Maiden is made of this material. A new album, and everything is absolutely the same. The most interesting thing is that the group does not want to part with its signature sound, the last time another sound was in the 98th. "The Final Frontier" is an album that is very good for our time, but it doesn’t have any kind of fire or something. Now, in principle, all lifetime legends suffer from this. Music remained at the same difficult level, despite the three guitars, but the guitar synthesizer does not smell, like it is not there at all. The melody of the material is of course very beautiful, but it is absolutely monotonous, everything is familiar right up to the pain. It would be nice to hear the whole album in the vein of the first song, something fundamentally new, and the studio standard of Virgo with the spirit of The Seventh Son, but not in 1986. The atmosphere of the album is not as militarized as its predecessor, it is no coincidence that the reference to "The Seventh Son" is made. There is more mystification and lyrics, as well as acoustics and stretched string intros. This is not to say that the album is walk-through, but alas, you cannot call it something superinteresting. Probably the most correct conclusion - the first ten years of their career were too productive for the world heavy classic.
