The fourth album of the group received a strange name and cover, but this did not lose its relevance and demonstrated the high creative potential of the leaders of JP - Tipton, Halford, Downing. For the third year in a row, this trinity has been issuing quality material. This album marked the end of the first period (hardovogo) of the group. The material itself is a hard-progressive rock, and compared with the previous release of progressive elements has become more and art rock sound has almost disappeared. Two things stand out among all the material - this is the cult action movie "Exciter" and the no less cult ballad "Beyond The Realms Of Death". The rest of the material is more or less even, at a very high level. Well, the performing skills of the musicians are beyond praise, especially Halford's vocals, which could pull out even the weakest song with its unique timbre. It is also worth noting the next shift behind the drum set - this place was taken by Les Binks, who managed to make his “feather” in composing music. In general, the album is at the level of the previous two - musthave to all fans of the group!

'Stained Class' is one the best Judas Priest albums released in the 70's, together 'Sin After Sin' and 'Sad Wings of Destiny'. Required item for a metal collection.
