 | Beschreibung: | Five CD set. 2017 release from the alt-rock band led by Stephin Merritt. 50 Year Memoir chronicles the 50 years of songwriter Stephin Merritt's life with one song per year; it was produced by Stephin Merritt with additional production by Thomas Bartlett and Charles Newman. This set includes an extensive interview by Daniel Handler and facsimile handwritten lyrics by Merritt. Stephin began recording on his 50th birthday: February 9, 2015. Unlike his previous work, the lyrics on 50 Song Memoir are nonfiction-in Merritt's words, "a mix of autobiography (bedbugs, Buddhism, buggery) and documentary (hippies, Hollywood, hyperacusis)." In addition to his vocals on all 50 songs, Merritt plays more than 100 instruments on 50 Song Memoir, ranging from ukulele to piano to drum machine to abacus., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Acoustic Guitar [Martin HD-28], Electric Guitar [Truetone Speed Demon, Fender Telecaster]: John Woo, Backing Vocals [Background Vocals]: Anthony Kaczynski, Backing Vocals [Background Vocals]: Randy Walker (4), Backing Vocals [Background Vocals]: Shirley Simms, Backing Vocals [Background Vocals], Accordion, Vibraphone, Piano [Yamaha And Acrosonic Pianos]: Daniel Handler, Backing Vocals [Background Vocals], Piano: Claudia Gonson, Cover [Cover Art], Artwork [Cover Art]: Alix Merritt, Design: Evan Gaffney, Engineer [Assistant Mastering Engineer]: Maria Rice, Executive-Producer: Robert Hurwitz, Flugelhorn, Tuba, Vocals [Mouthpiece]: Johny Blood, Interviewee: Stephin Merritt, Interviewer: Daniel Handler, Liner Notes: Daniel Handler, Management: Claudia Gonson, Mastered By: Jeff Lipton, Mellotron, Clavinet, Electronics [Suzuki Omnichord], Keyboards [Rhodes Bass], Piano, Synthesizer [Moog], Computer [iPad], Keyboards [Optigan], Synthesizer [Teenage Engineering OP-1], Electronics [Akai Music Production Controller]: Thomas Bartlett, Photography By [Photography]: Arnulfo Maldonado, Photography By [Photography]: Catalina Kulczar, Photography By [Photography]: Stephin Merritt, Producer: Stephin Merritt, Producer [Additional Production]: Charles Newman, Producer [Additional Production]: Thomas Bartlett, Recorded By [At Decibelle]: Charles Newman, Recorded By [At Decibelle]: Gabriel Shepard, Recorded By [At Decibelle]: J.
