Yuriy P. - 26.12.2024 At the time, this French album caused a lot of enthusiastic responses. And the reasons for that are more than obvious. An extremely fresh and fast, and in its own way melodic album. All the songs have memorable melodies, which is quite rare for such speed. The style can be most accurately described as sped-death-metal, although such a concept does not exist... In places, classic death metal riffs organically turn into thrash ones at high speed. In general, despite the rather brutal vocals and jaw-dropping rhythms, the album gives me the impression of lightness and transparency (and not ferocity and rage). But this does not mean that the product is commercial. Quite the opposite. It's just that speed and technicality come first here. They play great, harmoniously and extremely energetically. In general, of what was recorded in 1991, this album is certainly one of the best. And, by the way, a good option for getting to know the style.
| | Vladislav M. - 28.09.2019 The underground of the good old nineties not only gave birth to a great many stars in the sky of the Death Metal scene, but also buried many in the same times. The French Massacra was not just on the same wavelength with a number of the most important names, but was this same wave along with them!
I rate the release at 5/5 - it has everything that a cool old death album should contain.
