Beschreibung: | Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Listening to Lee Morgan's molten solo on "A Night In Tunisia," the opening track of The Cooker, it's hard to fathom that he was only 19 years old at the time. Recorded shortly after his dazzling performance on John Coltrane's masterpiece 'Blue Train' in 1957, The Cooker was in fact Morgan's 5th Blue Note album as a leader. Bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Philly Joe Jones are joined by baritone saxophone master Pepper Adams and the great Bobby Timmons on piano on this superbly swinging session., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Baritone Saxophone: Pepper Adams, Bass: Paul Chambers (3), Design [Cover Design]: Reid Miles, Drums: "Philly" Joe Jones, Lacquer Cut By: Kevin Gray, Mastered By [LP Mastering]: Kevin Gray, Photography By: Francis Wolff, Piano: Bobby Timmons, Producer [LP Reissue Supervision]: Joe Harley, Producer [Original Session Producer]: Alfred Lion, Recorded By [Recording By]: Rudy Van Gelder, Sleeve Notes: Robert Levin (2), Trumpet: Lee Morgan, Written-By: Dizzy Gillespie, Written-By: Leo Robin, Written-By: Lee Morgan, Written-By: Cole Porter, Written-By: Roger Ramirez, Written-By: Lee Morgan, Labelcode 0860042 (B0031577-01, 81578, BST-81578), Licensed From Capitol Records, LLC, Copyright (c) UMG Recordings, Inc., Copyright (c) Mosaic Images LLC, Recorded At Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, Mastered At Cohearent Audio, Lacquer Cut At Cohearent Audio, Pressed By Record Technology Incorporated |
