Eugene S. - 23.11.2023 The fifth studio album by English rock band Muse, first released on 11 September 2009. The Resistance received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its concept, instrumentation, influences and Bellamy's vocals. I recommend.
| | Alexander S. - 16.01.2020 After listening to a new creation by one of the most interesting contemporary British bands, I had rather conflicting feelings. On the one hand, the group took an undoubted step towards progressive rock: the structure of the songs became more complicated, orchestral arrangements appeared, the influence of classical music was noticeable (themes of Chopin and Saint-Saens were played out), and sometimes, as the previous reviewer correctly noted, all this resembles the legendary Queen. On the other hand, there is an almost complete absence of drive rock compositions. The music turned out to be more contemplative, but at the same time more holistic and conceptual, in contrast to, say, Black Holes. All other pluses for which we love Matthew Bellamy so much and the company are abundant: the melody is diverse and lyrical, the vocals are still inimitable and charismatic. I think that the creative growth of the group, as they say, is obvious, and on the way out we have one of the best works in Muse's work and one of the strongest albums of the past year. Listen and enjoy.
