 | Beschreibung: | Thrash Metal legends from Switzerland... Formed in 1983, then still under the name "Carrion" and hailing from Switzerland, the band released two milestones of European thrash metal with "Depression" and "Behind My Mask". After recording their first demo in 1988 under the supervision of Schmier (Destruction) and playing a show with Despair, they were immediately offered a contract by their singer Robert Kampf for his freshly founded label Century Media. The technical thrash metal somewhere between the chairs brought Poltergeist many shows as support for Watchtower, Coroner and many more. In 1993, the band's last album for the time being was released with the already path-defining title "Nothing Lasts Forever". A Reunion and new albums followed (2016/2020). A fact that not everyone has on their radar: Poltergeist singer Andre Grieder also sang on the Destruction album "Cracked Brain" after Schmier left the band. More than 30 years later, the first two longplayers of the exceptional band are now being re-released in remastered versions via MDD Records with exclusive Linar-Notes by Buffo Schnadelbach (Rock Hard Magazine), Runningtime: 00:00:00, Bass: Graf (18), Drums: Jazzer (2), Guitar [Guitars]: V.O. Pulver, Liner Notes: Buffo Schnädelbach, Vocals: Andre Grieder, Labelcode MDDS195.2 (MDD195), Distributed By AL!VE, Recorded At Funbox Studios, Nunnigen, Mastered At DADC Austria | | Anzahl der Titel: |

Yuriy P. - 08.10.2023 If this is depression, then I wouldn’t mind her visiting more often! I could also tolerate such a “tormenting spirit.” In this case we are talking about a very nice representative of thrash metal from the late eighties/early nineties – the Swiss Poltergeist. It would seem that a gentleman's set is presented - characteristic riffing, double-bass attacks, intelligent compositions, brilliant technique, melodic solo cuts... The guys, of course, will not be better than Megadeth, but they are reminiscent of Whiplash (minus the specific joyfulness inherent in Americans) - and this is not enough. The album boasts many worthy moments: aggressive and tenderly touching, iron slaughter and memorable melodies, banter and pathos. In general, while not actually being either a revolution in the genre or at least a successful album, “Depression” is pleasing!
