Led by charismatic front man Jumpin' Bill Carlisle, the Charlisles were a honky-tonkin' country-western act with a special aptitude for novelty songs. Veiled references to sex and Bill's antics kept the hits coming and the seats packed from the 1930s into the 1950s. In fact, Bill was still leaping all over the stage in his 40s and 50s!
