Description:Mansun was one of the most iconic and innovative British bands of the late 90s with Parlophone. They released four classic albums â?? â??Attack of the Grey Lanternâ?? (1997), â??Sixâ?? (1998), â??Little Kixâ?? (2000) and the compilation â??Kleptomaniaâ?? following the bandâ??s split â?? as well as a popular and now rare series of EPs. Kscope, having now acquired this impressive catalogue, are running a thorough reissue series that delves into a treasure trove of previously unreleased audio and visual material, including the much-awaited full remaster of their #1 album â??Attack of the Grey Lanternâ??. The bandâ??s output launched them into a fervent cult following, which now holds the annual UK Mansun Convention and started the petition that called for frontman Paul Draper to release his debut solo album â??Spooky Actionâ?? in August 2017. The solo album, also released on Kscope, hit #19 in the UK album charts and led to a sold-out UK solo tour, during which he performed Mansun's definitive and most popular track "Wide Open Space", and its live recording features on Draper's new live album â??Live at Scalaâ??. Due to fan-driven popular demand, Paul then played an ambitious second solo tour in early 2018, performing â??Spooky Actionâ?? as well as â??Attack of the Grey Lanternâ??. This 21st anniversary edition of Attack of the Grey Lantern will be released as a deluxe book set with 3 CDs and a DVD in a 72-page hardback book featuring the iconic 'roses' cover art. All the audio has been fully remastered from the original master tapes by Jon Astley (Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Who). The first CD contains the original album, the second is packed with previously unreleased demos, rarities and outtakes from the Mansun archive, and the third features BBC Radio 1 session tracks from '95 and '96 that have not been available since they were on air. The DVD boasts the album's first ever 5.1 surround sound mix (DTS 96/24 5.1 and Dolby Digital AC3 5.1) by long-time collaborator P-Dub, a hi-resolution stereo audio (24bit/48kHz Linear PCM) and 8 original promotional videos. The 72-page hardback book includes newly unearthed photos, extracts from Paul Draper's formative adolescent notebook documenting the early beginnings of AOTGL, previously unreleased original artwork, a foreword penned by Draper, in-depth sleeve notes by accomplished journalist Paul Stokes, and plenty of newly unearthed treasures. -
