This version of America comes as a 1xCD. - 1971 ALBUMFahey fans know that this 1971 album is one of his best-but what most don't know is that it was intended to be a 2-LP set. Nine of the songs were dropped just before it's release; here they are-for the first time-with the rest of the original album!Reissue of the original America LP which was intentionally a double LP but released as a single LP because Fahey believed a double album wouldn't sell. Tracks 1-9 are the unreleased tracks, tracks 10-13 make up the original LP.
Track 11 "Mark 1:15" was cut by two minutes from the original runtime, to allow the entire program to fit on a single disc.
Recorded January 31, 1971 at Larrabee Sound, Los Angeles, CA. Remastered in 1998 at Fantasy Studios, Berkeley.
