Alexander S. - 22/08/2019 An interesting work from the legacy of art rock of the seventies for me was the 1973 self-titled record Camel "Camel". In 2003, this album also passed a very pleasant mastering. First of all, it is worth saying that the Camel disc is mainly an acoustic work, almost completely devoid of distortion guitars, but this does not prevent the musicians from inserting several catchy and melodic solo parts into each song using a flute, guitar or keys. The work is quite noticeably imbued with blues elements, which makes it even more enjoyable, and when you consider that absolutely every composition is a real hit, then an extremely strong and positive impression is formed. The vocals are truly art rock, sometimes as if colorless, and sometimes indescribably emotional, initially unusual. The vocalist sings very calmly and soulfully, with his trick. The album gave the world two masterpieces - a beautiful and sincere song “Mystic Queen” and a dynamic action movie “Never Let Go” with interesting parts of the guitar and hammond in the background, a very atmospheric number. The same plan and the song "Six Ate" with such an atmosphere of "rain dripping outside the window." In general, the album is a real diamond of art rock. Very unusual and extraordinary work.
