This is the first JP's album from 1973. But not heavy metal, good hard rock. Very melodic. Sound is very quality. Label Repertore one of the best. Highly recommended.

Cool album. Soulful Hard n Heavy with 45 years of aging. Debut work, start of a great band and colossal career.

1974 is a year of creative stagnation from the then leaders of hard rock. Black Sabbath took a one-year break; in Deep Purple, the line-up changes included Blackmore's departure and Rainbow's organization; The golden years of Led Zeppelin are behind. Against this background, an event takes place that remained invisible then, but which became global later, namely the release of the debut album of modern heavy metal legends - the band Judast Priest (JP). What was such an unremarkable release at that time? The material on this album was a mix of hard rock with blues and art rock. In fact, the material on this album was composed long before its release. The main composing force was Downing, even before appearing in Tipton, who participated in only two compositions. Also participated in the writing - Halford, Hill and the first vocalist of Pristov - Atkins. From the advantages of the album I will highlight the album design and a decent record. The material itself is slightly above average (+6), I will highlight the positive "One for the Road"; the title topic "Rocka-Rolla"; hit album "Never Satisfied" and the beautiful ballad "Run of the Mill". The rest of the material is pretty even. In general, the album is a must for all fans of JP, as a starting point for the development of the band.

First album from the British heavy metal band, originally released in 1974. Sounds closer to Black Sabbath, mostly doomy and psychedelic songs.

This is the first Judas Priest album, which is more rock oriented, but forming the basis for the upcoming great albums produced by the band in the 70's.

Excellent debut album Judas Priest, strongly underestimated by critics. The metal here still does not smell, a beautiful hard record.
