â?? Limited Edition - Holy Diver - DIO - Holy Diver is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Dio, released in 1983. Vocalist Ronnie James Dio had just finished his first tenure in Black Sabbath, whose drummer Vinny Appice he took with him to put together his own band. The roster was completed by his former band mate in Rainbow Jimmy Bain on bass and by the young guitarist Vivian Campbell, coming from the NWOBHM band Sweet Savage. The album was acclaimed by the music press and is the most successful of the band. The cover features the band mascot, Murray spinning chains around waves where a man with a priest or minister's collar in chains is floating. Dio was quick to argue that appearances are misleading, that it could just as easily be a priest killing a devil, wanting people not to "judge a book by it's cover".This version is 4th Generation of SRC pressings, approx. Sep. 1990 - Apr. 1993

Nebojsa B. - 26/Aug/2023 Heavy metal masterpiece, one of greatest albums in this genre - a cultural monument! Sound is amazing, repress of first release (not remastered). Comes with simple 4 page booklet - like original press.
| | Volodymyr Z. - 20/Mar/2021 Very good edition of famous album. Fantastic sound!
| | Alexander S. - 11/Jul/2019 In 1983, the great rock vocalist Ronnie James Dio, after successful work in Elf, Rainbow and Black Sabbath, finally decided to go his own way and founded the group Dio. Old acquaintances Vinnie Appice and Jimmy Bane, guitarist Vivian Campbell and keyboard player Cloud Schnell joined him. And with the very first album, Ronnie at once conquered the absolute summit for himself, which he would never reach again. Holy Diver is just perfect, there is not a single weak point, not a single bad song. He listens in one breath and desperately wants to press the Repeat button after the last track. At the very first studio studio, the group developed its own sound and a gloomy, medieval atmosphere that blends perfectly into the concept of the group. In many ways, this is facilitated by Dio's “branded” texts, as if they immerse the listener into the world of fairies, dragons and other fairy tales. Half of the album’s tracks have already become an absolute classic of heavy metal, this group includes the hurricane opening fighter Stand Up And Shout, the real “medieval” epic Holy Diver, a magnificent synthesis of soft tenderness and frenetic speed and a commercially-oriented song Rainbow In The Dark with a memorable play on keyboards. What is interesting is that all the other songs from the album are no worse than the above-mentioned masterpieces, among them there are stunning heavy action films (Gypsy, Straight Through The Heart), and more melodic tracks (Caught In The Middle, Invisble), there is even the darkest epic slow dance The Night. The sound is great, the only thing that always surprised me was - why did Ronnie need a keyboard player? Dio's music has always been heavy enough, keyboards can only be found in a couple of songs for the whole album. But let's not talk about it, with or without Cloud as part, Dio set the highest quality bar on his debut album. In my opinion, Holy Diver is Ronnie’s best work ever. The collection of any fan of heavy music will be incomplete without this diamond. A masterpiece for all time.
| | Vladimir G. - 25/May/2019 One of the best metal albums ever released. Dio's legacy continues to be a paradigm for what fantasy based heavy metal is all about!
| | Zlatko D. - 02/May/2019 Real masterpiece. This is one of the albums that I can listen whole day, everyday. It's essential for all hard rock lovers and metalheads.
| | kostas k. - 14/Sep/2018 Classic! Everything here sounds perfect,no weak songs, Ronnie at his best
| | Vagner C. - 13/Feb/2018 Absolute classic of Heavy Metal, Dio's first solo album keep the powerful sound and Voice that made him famous in Rainbow and Black Sabbath. Holy Diver is full of classic songs and an mandatory item in any metal collection.
| | Vladimir M. - 05/Feb/2017 Classic heavy metal album for one of my favorite metal singers of all time. Dio continues from Black Sabbath to solo career in the same directon - heavy, loud and catchy. This album does not need introduction, just grab it if you don't have it in your collection.
