Description:
Digitally remastered collection from the veteran Greek vocalist. Nana Mouskouri is one of the biggest selling female artists of all time. In a 50 year career, she has sold over 350 million records and sung in more than 15 languages. The road that took her from her modest roots in Crete and Athens to international superstardom, reads like a script from a Hollywood movie; a bespectacled, plump, shy, child grows into one of the world's most iconic female artists. Nana at first captivated audiences in the tavern as and nightclubs of Athens, singing Greek folksongs and compositions written for her by the respected Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis and lyricist Nikos Gatsos. This 27 track release contains material recorded by Nana for Greek labels between 1958-1960. These beautiful songs are the foundation stones of her extraordinary career.
