Description:Deep Purple by Deep Purple, released 3 February 2000, includes the following tracks: "Lalena", "The Painter", "The Bird Has Flown", "The Bird Has Flown (alternate A-Side Version)" and more. This version of Deep Purple comes as a 1xCD. - =REMASTERED + 5 BONUS TRACKS=
The last DP album to feature original vocalist Rod Evans and original bassist Nick Simper. No real hints to the hard rock juggernauts they would soon become, but still a heady mix of late-'60s rock featuring plenty of fine Ritchie Blackmore solos and now 5 bonus tracks. The best known track here is their version of Donovan's Lalena.

The third studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple, released in June 1969. The music of this album is mostly original and a combination of progressive rock, hard rock and psychedelic rock, but with a harder edge and with the guitar parts in more evidence than in the past. Super album!

Even the black and white Bosch and the song of The Beatles could not spoil this album. It is very beautiful and accurate conveys the end of the sixties. It is a pity that the ideas of this album remained only in his possession. Oh! Led Zeppelin II... Camming out...

MARK 1 - very good album - Rod Evans and Nick Simper after this album are going to history - but, the songs and album are VERY VERY GOOD - Highly recommend

This album is classic British hard rock at its finest. I love this entire package, it remains in it's time frame and i can not speak highly enough of this early period of Deep Purples career. A must for any dedicated rock music fan.

One of my favourite Rock group in my high school days. The song April is one of my all time no. 1 song on my record list.

The album was released in 1969. The third album. This last work with Rod Evans. This is my personal opinion, but all three albums with his vocal - the best albums of the group. On the cover art, and music, influenced the creativity of the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch.
