A consistent hitmaker on the R&B charts, Womack has earned Top 40 hits in three decades while providing material and working with artists as varied as Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Janis Joplin, Joe Tex, King Curtis, Sly & the Family Stone and Mick Jagger among others.
