Two of the sessions, featuring Big Bill Broonzy in 1952 and blues duo Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee six years later in 1958, capture these great performers in more informal surroundings, probably recorded at parties after official shows. Consequently they reveal a "warts and all" portrait of these legendary bluesmen, complete with whiskey enhanced singing & cigarette induced coughing. Includes rare BBC Radio recordings from 1950 featuring Josh White both in conversation & in fine musical form.
