 | | Description: | Charm School by Roxette, released 8 June 2023, includes the following tracks: "She's Got Nothing On (But The Radio)", "I'm Glad You Called", "Dream On", "In My Own Way" and more.
This version of Charm School comes as a 1xCD. - 2011 album from the Swedish Pop duo. After 25 years as a world-famous act with 70 million albums sold, one of Sweden's biggest pop groups steps back into the spotlight with 12 songs that are best described as "updated classic Roxette". The chances that this would ever happen looked slim when Marie Fredriksson in the autumn of 2002 was diagnosed with a brain tumor. But Marie managed to defeat the illness, and during 2009, the pieces gradually fell together. The album's first single is the extremely infectious groove-master "She's Got Nothing on (But the Radio)". Charm School has everything that has made Roxette one of the world's most played Pop groups; the clinging melodies, the passionate delivery, the humorous pop sense and the unique mix of Marie Fredriksson's and Per Gessle's voices.Publicado y distribuido por EMI-ODEON S.A.I.C. miembro de CAPIF. | | Fabio D. - 05/Jul/2014 For a Roxette fan like me, this album means both their comeback after 10 years without a new record (due to Marie's illness diagnosed back in 2002) and, at the same time, one of their weakest albums ever in terms of production and songwriting. The typical Roxette infectious hooks are absent here and the whole record is 'less' produced than their previous albums (Have a nice day and Room service): it's a raw sound, there's more improvisation and it seems most of it was recorded while jamming in the studio. That's nothing to be considered negative, but I miss the more polished and glossy Roxette sound. Favourites: Way Out, Speak To Me, Dream On, In My Own Way.
