"Heartwork" is the fourth studio album by British extreme metal band Carcass, released in 1993 on CD format by Earache Records. This landmark record is widely regarded as a pioneering work in the melodic death metal genre, blending aggressive riffs with intricate melodies and technical precision. The album features standout tracks such as "Buried Dreams," "No Love Lost," and the iconic title track "Heartwork." Carcass, formed in Liverpool in 1985, are celebrated for their evolution from grindcore origins to more melodic and sophisticated compositions. Their influence has been profound within heavy metal circles, inspiring countless bands worldwide. With previous acclaimed albums like "Necroticism ? Descanting the Insalubrious," Carcass have cemented their legacy as innovators of extreme music. Earache Records, established in 1986, is renowned for championing groundbreaking acts across various heavy genres and played a pivotal role in bringing underground metal to global audiences.
If Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, and Chopin were to get together and record a death metal album, I think it would sound something like "Heartwork."

Of course, personal sympathies were given to the period 87 - 91, but I can not recognize Heartwork as a quality work.
Peppy confident synthesis of heaviness and melody. The album really sounds very metal, literally a clang and sparks fly, a delicious sound of guitars. At the same time, a crystal clear sound allows you to hear all the details. Professional hit songwriting.

The ultimate moment of the pioneers of melodic death metal! All time classic with Steer, Walker, Owens and Amott at their best1
