This version of Back To Balboa & Rendezvous With Kenton comes as a 1xCD. - .. RENDEZVOUS WITH KENTONDigitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of albums from the Jazz great on one CD. Contains the complete original 1958 album Back to Balboa, appearing here on CD in stereo for the first time ever. Also, the complete 1957 LP Rendezvous with Kenton, which has never been previously issued on CD. Both albums were recorded live at the Rendezvous Ballroom, in Balboa Beach, California. Founded in 1928, the Rendezvous had contributed to Kenton's popularity since his first gig at the club in 1941. In 1966, the Rendezvous Ballroom burned to the ground and an apartment complex was later built at the location. Solar. |
