Description:2003 macht der 22-Jahre alte Thomas Broich als
Zweitligaspieler in der bayrischen Provinz erstmals von
sich Reden. Bald gilt er zwischen Schweinsteiger und
Podolski als Hoffnungsträger für die Nationalmannschaft.
Er liebt das Leben, Literatur und moralische Werte - wird
von den Medien als der andere Profi entdeckt und als
Mozart und neuer Netzer gepriesen. Er bekommt
zunehmend Probleme mit autoritären Trainern und kann sich
immer weniger mit den Mechanismen der Branche
identifizieren.

Sein Anders Sein und die Erwartungshaltung von Zuschauern
und Medien wenden sich nun gegen ihn, seine Karriere gerät
ins Wanken. 2009 bemerkt Broich Symptome von
Depressionen und ist kurz davor, seine Profi-Laufbahn zu
beenden. Doch hat er noch eine bessere Idee, die ihn fern
der Heimat wieder mit dem Fußball und mit sich selber
versöhnt ....
