Description:Der Journalist Alan Foster (Anthony Franciosa) möchte ein Interview mit dem bekannten Horrorautor Edgar Allan Poe (Klaus Kinski) führen, da dieser behauptet, alles, was er schreibt, entspricht der Wahrheit. Poe befindet sich in Gesellschaft von Lord Blackwood, der Foster anbietet, eine Nacht auf Schloss Providence zu verbringen - sollte er es schaffen, diese zu überleben, so erhält er 10 Pfund Sterling. Foster lässt sich aufgrund seiner skeptischen Einstellung allem Abseitigen gegenüber auf diese makabre Wette ein: Mit allerlei Warnungen sowie einer Schusswaffe versehen, wird er von den beiden vor dem Schloss abgesetzt. Zunächst irrt er frohen Mutes durch die Gemäuer, doch dann trifft er auf die wunderschöne Elisabeth (Michelle Mercier) und andere Bewohner des Schlosses, die eigentlich alle tot sein sollten ... - zusätzliche Szenen
