 | | Description: | Accept No Substitutes by Pleasure, released 24 November 2011, includes the following tracks: "Pleasure For Your Pleasure", "Jammin' With Pleasure", "The Love Of My Life", "2 For 1" and more.
This version of Accept No Substitutes comes as a 1xCD. - Digitally remastered edition of this 1976 Funk classic. Accept No Substitutes was the second album from the Portland outfit Pleasure. It contained their first R&B hit in the laid-back 'Ghettos of the Mind', plus the storming club floor-filler 'Let's Dance', a collaboration with label mates Side Effect. The rest of the album is the band at their height and features out-and-out Funk as well as the Jazz Dance classic '2 for 1'. Pleasure were signed to Fantasy through Jazz trombonist Wayne Henderson, who produced their early records including this one. An eight-piece, their mix of Soul, Funk and Jazz was hoped to be Fantasy's answer to the mega-selling Earth, Wind & Fire and Kool & the Gang. Although they didn't achieve that level of popularity, the quality of their music was just as high. Beat Goes Public."Accept No Substitutes" is a dynamic CD release by the acclaimed funk and soul band Pleasure, brought to you by Ace Records.
