- With their new album, GHOST REVERIES, Opeth continues to push the boundaries of extreme music through incorporating acoustic interludes and soothing vocals with hammering rhythms, abrasive guitars and a primal guttural roar.Ghost Reveries, an observation by Opeth

Alexander S. - 31/Oct/2019 I was wildly mistaken in the new creation of the Swedes. After, probably, the 10th audition, I realized that the masterpiece was still born, but not in the classical sense of the word, but in a slightly different way. I would call this album a colossal remix of Opeth's work from 1998-2003. It seems that all these melodies and riffs were on previous albums, and the atmosphere is the same, but it sounds in a new way, and very balanced. What Deliverance lacked here is abundantly filled in here: aggressive children's riffs sound somehow especially and so melodious that you wonder, and lyrical acoustic and blues inserts in Damnation style only emphasize the beauty of the album. Some moves simply surprised with their eccentricity, getting into the subject (as they say, into the stream) and sensuality (breaks into a tear at times).
Having laid down the usual ingredients in the mixer, the musicians got a multi-layered cocktail, which should be drunk in small sips, and then you will discover something new with each layer.
| | Marco M. - 23/Nov/2013 Both with the excellent price by Grooves, the high quality of this album makes me sure of the gift I was going to do: a strong, inspired album with all the musical essence of Opeth; Akerfeldt still in-between his clean/growling vocals and both still with the flavour of the past works, despite of the already strong influence by the music of Steven Wilson. Probably the last Opeth's work I can easy define an excellent album (watershed and Heritage are good, interesting with deep unforgettable moment but no more related to the past exploding glory of their inspiration). Enjoy
| | Ivan S. - 20/Mar/2017 Opeth are one of the best musicians nowadays and this is one of their best albums (all of them are great really). Didn't like the growl vocals at first but they are starting to grow on me with every listen, they really suit the music very well. Great CD, excellent service from Grooves. Very satisfied.
