LTM are pleased to announce a comprehensive programme of CD reissues by The Royal Family & the Poor the cult avant-folk-noise collective overseen by reclusive Liverpudlian bard Michael Keane. Formed by Mike Keane & Arthur McDonald in 1978 the duo's early Situationist agenda saw them join Factory Records & appear on the Factory Quartet compilation in 1980. Another early member was Nathan McGough later manager of Happy Mondays. After 1981 the band consisted of Keane alone.

Tracks 1 to 12 were originally released as GAIA 001 under the title "The Project Phase 3 - [r=784514]". Tracks 1 to 6 recorded at Amazon, Liverpool, on full moon, friday 13 February 1987. Mixed on 25 February 1987. Tracks 7 to 12 recorded at Sparks And Track, Liverpool, from 23 to 26 March 1987. Tracks 13 and 14 originally released on the B side of the 12" single release of "[r=877738] - Restrained In A Moment" (GAIA 002). Both tracks recorded at Amazon, Liverpool, on 11 October 1987 in one 23 hour session. Tracks 15 and 16 recorded as home demos between 1985 and 1987 (Copyright Control). All material released under license from Gaia Communications and Mike Keane, copyright reserved. All tracks digitally remastered in 2003.
