Description: | LTM are pleased to announce a comprehensive programme of CD reissues by The Royal Family & the Poor the cult avant-folk-noise collective overseen by reclusive Liverpudlian bard Michael Keane. Formed by Mike Keane & Arthur McDonald in 1978 the duo's early Situationist agenda saw them join Factory Records & appear on the Factory Quartet compilation in 1980. Another early member was Nathan McGough later manager of Happy Mondays. After 1981 the band consisted of Keane alone.Tracks 1 to 10 were originally released as [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/784483]Fact 95[/url] under the title "The Project Phase I - The Temple Of The 13th Tribe". Tracks 1 to 7 originally recorded at Amazon, Liverpool, May 1982. Tracks 3 and 10 originally recorded at Trident, London, January 1983. All other tracks recorded at Strawberry, Stockport, February 1984 and mixed at Revolution, Cheadle Hulme, May 1984. Track 5 mixed at Britannia Row, London, June 1984.
Tracks 11 to 16 are mentioned as bonus tracks and were originally released as one side of the compilation album "A Factory Quartet" ([url=http://www.discogs.com/release/418113]Fact 24[/url]) in 1980. "Another Hannett and Nagle job carried out at Graveyard Prestwich, and Strawberry Stockport. Assists to Gretton and Pickering. No copyright for all the usual reasons."
