Description: | 2014 two CD set containing early recordings, productions and interview segments from the genius producer of many Post-Punk classics. The bands and the studio toys and the acoustics of the buildings were the chemical ingredients and what he hoped was that mixing all these up would result in some great chemical reaction. With this release, we have gone back to the roots of Hannett getting involved with Joy Division. Many of the tracks on this set were produced a while before Martin became a director of Factory and the house producer for the label, and for the first time you can hear a collection of tracks in a different genre produced by Martin as well as tracks where both Martin Hannett the musician and Martin the producer /engineer comes to the forefront.Titles are entered exactly as per the CD sleeve, artists are named correctly as per the track itself.
Rear cover reads:
Musician, Dadaist, Producer, Chemist, Electronic Sound Experimenter.
On Disc One Tracks 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10 feature Martin as musician as well as Producer/Engineer.
Tracks 11-19 Produced by Martin Hannett 1975-1978 period.
Tracks 11-14 on Disc One and 5 to 10 on Disc Two are from the first album Martin ever produced.
