Really enjoyed this second album by New Order. Sure Blue Monday isn't on this version. It shows what they do on later albums just like Movement did.

Although this is their second album, someone could accurately comment that this is the first true New Order album. And i would definitely agree with them. While their debut album feels like being in the space between Joy Division and New Order this one showcases a band that has become a finished project by now. They sound very comfortable with the new style of music they are playing and this is definitely one of their strongest albums all-around. Also "Age of Consent'' is absolutely amazing!!

New Order goes Pop. Nach den düsteren Zeiten von Movement machen New Order nun New Wave. Achtung: Blue Monday ist nicht auf dem normalen Album enthalten, obwohl es zu dieser Zeit veröffentlicht wurde. The Village sticht heraus, allgemein ein ganz anderes Album als der Vorgänger Movement. Wie schon zu Joy Division Zeiten haben auch New Order dies Singles zum Album nicht auf das Album gepackt sondern ausschließlich als Singles veröffentlicht. Wer also die bekannten Singles will, muss sich "Substance" von New Order kaufen, oder die Delxue Edition zu Power, Corruption & Lies
