This version of The Best Of Both Worlds comes as a 2xCD. - DEFINITIVE COLLECTION, INCL. 3 NEW SONGSTwo CD collection. One of the greatest Hard Rock bands ever, Van Halen have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, crowning their amazing career with their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. With their 1978 eponymous debut, Van Halen simultaneously rewrote the rules of Rock guitar and Hard Rock in general. Guitarist Eddie Van Halen redefined what electric guitar could do, developing a blindingly fast technique with a variety of self-taught two-handed tapping, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and effects that mimicked the sounds of machines and animals. It was wildly inventive and over the top, equaled only by vocalist David Lee Roth, who brought the role of a Metal singer to near-performance art standards with his wild flair for showmanship. Together, they made Van Halen into the most popular American Rock 'n' Roll band of the late '70s and early '80s, and in the process set the template for Hard Rock and Heavy Metal for the '80s and beyond. 36 tracks including cuts from the DLR years as well as later tracks with Sammy Hagar. Warner. 2007.Tracks 1-1, 1-5, 1-7, 2-3 and 2-7 taken from the [m=29426] album (1978)

Tracks 1-6, 1-12, 2-8 and 2-11 taken from the [m=29554] album (1988).

Azmi H. - 13/Aug/2022 One of the best rock compilations of any band you will ever find. Whether you are a fan of the Dave Lee Roth period or the Sammy Hagar line up this compilation has all the highlights. From 'Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love' to 'Panama' and 'Why Can't This Be Love' and 'Dreams' and everything in between including live versions of certain tracks which aren't just unnecessary duplication but add to the overall listening experience.
| | Ivica S. - 13/Dec/2020 I just keep playing this, it contains elements of many 60's,70's and other bands I love (Doors, Zep, Sabbath, Purple, Hawkwind, Floyd, Black Keys,) but keeps things fresh and there's a sense of character and good humor running though it all. Fantastic. VAN HALEN forever
| | HYUNG RAE K. - 31/Oct/2020 Some days ago, our guitar hero , Mr.Eddie Van Halen was dead for cancer. Rest in Peace . Jump to Heaven.
| | Volodymyr Z. - 21/Aug/2018 Very good compilation from all times and all singers of Van Halen!
| | Nicolás Andrés B. - 09/Jun/2017 Este álbum es muy completo y a diferencia de la edición limitada, tiene un disco adicional (es extraño). Además de esto, contiene tres canciones nuevas "It's About Time", "Up For Breakfast" y "Learning To See". La canción "Finish What Ya Started" termina de una forma extraña, parece un error en la remasterización. Un buen disco.
