The eighth studio album (twelfth album overall) by the Grateful Dead. It was released on September 1, 1975, Upon release, Blues for Allah became the band's highest-charting album up to that point, peaking at number 12 in the US during a thirteen-week chart run and becoming their third straight top 20 album.

I am a proud lover of the embalming process, and I owe it all to this group called Graetful DEAD. Great album... Highly recommended

One of my favorite Dead's studio albums. This one is more of a free form acid jazz effort. The first half of this album (originaly "Side A") is brilliant with Mickey Hart back on the percussions. The second half is a bit of a drawback and a shift to a more mediterranean style. But still this makes an overall great album all together. This version is remastered, packed nicely as a digipack, original art and inner notes by David Fricke and the big bonus is 6 (!!!) previously unreleased studio tracks. That's a very generous gift. Highly recommended.
