Description:	Im Jahr 1910 soll die junge Manuela von Meinhardis (Romy Schneider) nach dem Tod ihrer geliebten Mutter in einem Internat für adlige junge Mädchen die Regeln der Gesellschaft erlernen. Doch es fällt ihr schwer, in Uniform den strengen Vorschriften des Hauses zu folgen. Nur Fräulein von Bernburg (Lilli Palmer) versucht, Manuela über den Verlust ihrer Mutter hinweg zu helfen.
