As a newer fan of Mastodon, I went backwards. My first album was Crack the Skye, then followed Leviathan, Blood Mountain, Call of the Mastodon. Fast forward through The Hunter, OMRTS, and Emperor. Then I came across Remission, a sludgy, primal side of these GA boys. Very good album if you enjoy the quirky technicals behind Brent Hind's guitar writing with a much heavier Sanders-style vocal presence.
