Extra-Infos: Recorded At The Same Session As "copper Blue"
Description:Sugar were the US alternative rock trio fronted by ex Hüsker Dü vocalist / guitarist Bob Mould. After the resounding success of their debut album Copper Blue , Sugar followed up with the Beaster EP in 1993. Unlike the pop sound of their previous release, Beaster found the group experimenting with a much darker, heavier sound. Highlights include â??Tiltedâ?? which Stereogum hailed as â??possibly the best song in Mould's entire catalogueâ? and the epic â??JC Autoâ?? described by Pitchfork as ranking with â??anything on In Utero in terms of sheer forceâ??. The EP became the groupâ??s highest charting release when it reached #3 in the UK album charts in April 1993. For the first time, the EP is presented on heavyweight 180g clear vinyl. - RECORDED AT THE SAME SESSION AS "COPPER BLUE"
Deluxe two disc (CD + NTSC/Region 0 DVD) edition of this 1993 release from the Indie Rock noisemakers fronted by Bob Mould. Recorded at the same sessions that produced their classic debut Copper Blue, this sophomore collection was very much the dark flipside to the first album's widescreen power pop. Although retaining his gift for great hooks, Beaster saw frontman and songwriter Bob Mould screaming confessional and raw emotional lyrics against a raging torrent of noisy guitars. Lovingly remastered from the original tapes in remarkably improved fidelity, this edition combines the 1993 album with a DVD featuring the band blasting through their live set in front of a huge outdoor audience at one of the many festival appearances they made that year.
Comes in a tri-fold Digipak. Remastered from the original tapes. Includes a 20 page booklet containing photos, memorabilia, and interviews. All songs published by Granary Music (BMI) administered by Bug Music. Made in the EU.
Producer: Bob Mould, Lou Giordano
