 | Description: | Last Dog And Pony Show + Livedog 98 by Bob Mould, released 18 June 2012.
This version of Last Dog And Pony Show + Livedog 98 comes as a 3xCD. - .. + LIVEDOG 98Deluxe expanded three CD set containing the former Husker Du/Sugar frontman's 1996 and 1998 albums plus a previously unreleased live album. The 32 page booklet contains rare photos, memorabilia, and an exclusive new interview with Bob Mould. Walking away from the commercial success of his band Sugar, Bob Mould reinvented his approach to music-making again in 1996 with his self-titled third solo album, often referred to as Hubcap due to it's simple but striking sleeve imagery. Writing and playing everything himself, the recording frames emotive and hook-laden songs with a playful arrangement of drum machines, overdriven guitars and bubbling keyboards. A noise-pop gem that has long been regarded by fans as a firm favorite. It is combined here with the follow-up album from two years later, the last release of Bob's short but productive partnership with the seminal Creation Record Label. A valedictory farewell to the guitar based rock that he would subsequently take a long sabbatical from (and later return to further down the line), the Last Dog And Pony Show once again highlights his expert song craft and highly original sonic vision. Edsel. An anthology of the solo material Bob Mould recorded for the Creation Records label in the 1990s following the break-up of his highly successful power trio Sugar.
Gatefold digipak with 32-page booklet containing full lyrics, rare photos memorabilia, and an exclusive new interview telling the story of the album in Bob's own words.

"Bob Mould/The Last Dog and Pony Show/Livedog98" is a special CD release from the influential American musician Bob Mould, brought to you by Demon / Edsel. This collection features two essential works: "The Last Dog and Pony Show," originally released in 1998, which marked a pivotal moment as Mould announced it would be his last electric band tour for some time; and "Livedog98," an energetic live recording capturing the raw power of that era's performances. The studio album blends alternative rock with introspective songwriting, while the live set showcases Mould?s dynamic stage presence. Bob Mould first rose to fame as a founding member of Hüsker Dü, one of the most important bands in alternative rock history, before achieving further success with Sugar and his solo career. His influence on indie and punk scenes remains profound.
