I have the both the live recordings of the Concerto from '69 and from '99, and appreciate them as masterpieces. The new studio recorded version of this masterpiece is, at least, as good as its older sisters. Apart from the fact that this is the last performance of a genius like Mr. Lord (whose name is forever recorded on golden letters in the music history), this version has as a highlight the great performance of Joe Bonamassa and Bruce Dickinson, among others, giving their personal spicy touch, mainly to the Second Movement. If you like the classical side of Jon Lord's work, this is a must.
