This version of Angel Voices comes as a 1xCD. - POPULAR ENGLISH BOY'S CHOIRCD is packaged in a standard transparent-tray jewel case along with rear inlay (printed on both sides) and a 12-pages (12-panel, foldout) booklet that includes lyrics, notes, and a four-panel-wide group portrait. Some lyrics are Latin with no translation.
This is primarily a new studio album, not a compilation, but, as disclosed in the booklet of the Japanese release ([r=19551142]), tracks 5 (Be Still My Soul) and 8 (Voca Me) are the recordings from [m=1522252] (2004); and tracks 10 (We Are The Lost) and 12 (Recordare) are from [m=2220925] (2005). (This is why the three soloists on Voca Me are not credited as current members of the group.)
Track notes:
1. Sanctus: based on Canon by Pachelbel.
4. Going Home: based on the Largo from the Symphony No. 9 'From the New World' by Dvo?ák.
8. Voca Me: Chorus extract based on 'Stabat Mater' by Pergolesi and descant phrase from Hildegard von Bingen.
10. We Are The Lost: Words adapted from 'In Flanders Fields' by John McCrea and 'O God our help in ages past' by Isaac Watts.
Adapted Latin words are drawn from the Mass, Requiem Mass, Stabat Mater, Compline and the Psalms.
