After illness removed Christopher Gaddy from Joseph Jarman's quartet, Joseph carried on with the exciting rhythm team of Charles Clark and Thurman Barker. For concerts Joseph frequently invited guests as demonstrated by the addition of Sherri Scott for the first pieces on this CD. Gaddy's death prompted Joseph's composition "Song for Christopher," based on incomplete notations by the pianist. Joseph invited additional guests to realize the music for this 1968 recording including Muhal Richard Abrams, Fred Anderson and John Stubblefield. (Previously deleted 11/1/06.
