Eugene S. - 2025年 01月 16日 The fifth studio album by German heavy metal band U.D.O. This is, in my opinion, the best album of the German “man and ship” in the 90s. Real Teutonic, melodic and moderately aggressive heavy metal, as on all the records with his participation since the glorious ACCEPT.
| | Yuriy P. - 2019年 03月 23日 “Solid” is the heaviest Udo album at that time, a very tough, dense and rich sound that meets the standards set on the last two Death Row and Predator Accept albums, but unlike them, pure Teutonic music is given heavy metal, without industrial endeavors or in something indecent. It was not for nothing that the year of the album “Timebomb” was - although it turned out to be unsuccessful, but Dirkschneider, and especially the music, got a good dose of aggression and anger from him. The name "Solid" fits very well the entire musical canvas, which is really "strong", but not so interesting for it, so that it deserves a high rating. Only two songs cling to - a composition with a gloomy basis and a heavy melody “Independence Day”, which opens a medium tempo like a tank, and the last song, the acoustic ballad “The Healer”. There is nothing more to praise Dirkschneider. All other tracks are very boring. Verdict: the music is of high quality, but not original, so I advise only fanatically loyal fans of this style and a particular artist.
