Marius DeVries (Bjork, Madonna, Massive Attack) helms the producer's chair, bringing young Wainwright a fresh, polished and challenging sound that incorporates many of his musical strengths. Recorded in Woodstock, New York and London, it features lush orchestrations (by both Wainwright & DeVries) and harmonies as well as instrumental touches from former Bob Dylan guitarist and Texas legend Charlie Sexton as well as drums laid down by David Bowie's Sterling Campbell, the Band's Levon Helm and Matt Johnson. Cameos also include sister Martha and Mother Kate McGarrigle and Linda Thompson. This edition includes two bonus tracks ("Es Mus Sein" and "Velvet Curtain Rag") not found on the U.S. edition.
